Downtownster is a cutting edge, new media news originator with a specific focus on lifestyle at the city center. An informational blog at its core, Downtownster also features creative blogs often in the form of serialized fiction to entertain readers, while at the same time promoting places, products, and services through experiential product placements embedded into its innovative storylines.

Downtownster was founded by award winning author Stan Lerner who’s credits include the Las Vegas music spectacle “Night Tribe”, the motion picture comedy classic “Meet The Family”, the children’s book Stanley The Elephant, and the novel “Stan Lerner’s Criminal”. Stan is also the writer of the popular blog Downtown Oliver Brown and a primary contributor to Downtownster.

Downtownster, unlike most blogs, is a news originator—not a content aggregator. And to this end Downtownster employs some of the best blog writers in the world. Other blog sites have made a business out of compiling news from sources that are as vast as the Internet itself. But these content aggregators simply cannot guarantee the quality of their content nor can they guide its’ focus to what any particular community finds relevant. By hiring writers that are both consummate professionals and deeply imbedded in the community Downtownster truly recognizes that CONTENT IS KING.

Downtownster does not settle for setting itself apart solely by the quality of its’ journalism. But rather, goes where the great newspapers and magazines of the past were once willing to tread in the golden age of print—serialized fiction. Because Downtownster recognizes that serialized fiction offers its’ readers entertainment and a unique insight into the humanity of any given community, in addition to its’ talented journalist, it employs some of the most gifted fiction writers in the world as well.

There has been much speculation about the future of news in the form of written words. What will become of newspapers? The answer is—Downtownster. The future of news is still indeed the written word. But in the 21st century it is read on a screen and it offers a few new and very entertaining twists.
